SOCOTEC held its traditional summer reception, the "BLUE Party," at the Francisco Giner de los Ríos Foundation in Madrid.
The event brought together clients and stakeholders, serving as a token of appreciation and commitment for their continued trust and support.
The Francisco Giner de los Ríos Foundation was chosen as the venue because it's an emblematic rehabilitation project. Completed in 2013, it's a clear example of the convergence between architecture and engineering, showcasing SOCOTEC's ability to tackle complex challenges in the capital.
During the evening, attendees learned about the project details from architects Amid Cero 9 (Efrén Grinda and Cristina Díaz) and Xavier Aguiló, SOCOTEC's Director of Structural Engineering, who led the engineering aspects.

Fundación Giner de los Ríos
Rehabilitation

Awarded through a public tender, the Foundation's project focused on restoring the garden as its central axis and expanding facilities by constructing two basements beneath the existing buildings.
SOCOTEC was responsible for the structural design and construction process of the new buildings, as well as the rehabilitation of Giner's house and the wooden pavilion.
The structural engineering not only tackled the design of unique spaces but also the complexity of building basements in a restricted location while preserving pre-existing structures. A testament to its success is that the project underwent no significant modifications from the contractor, validating the precision of the design and process.
