The Joint Venture formed by SOCOTEC and Alauda has been awarded the consultancy and technical assistance contract for the supervision and monitoring of works to improve the safety and capacity of the slip road connecting the A-30 to the MU-30. This is a strategic action to bolster mobility and road safety at the interchange, heading towards Cartagena.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, through the Directorate-General for Roads, has awarded the SOCOTEC-Alauda the contract for technical assistance and supervision of this project, reinforcing its presence in a strategic infrastructure for the Region of Murcia.

The project consists of the creation of a fourth lane on the A-30 motorway (Cartagena bound) up to the junction with the MU-30 (Reguerón motorway), a section with high traffic density that requires an immediate technical solution to alleviate rush-hour congestion..

Technical Guarantee for Infrastructure

With an award budget of 1.2 million euros for consultancy tasks, the SOCOTEC-Alauda JV will assume the functions of technical assistance to the Project Manager. The team of experts will be responsible for:

  • Exhaustive supervision and monitoring of the works to ensure compliance with deadlines and quality standards.

  • Providing support as a technical office, preparing reports, technical notes, and studies necessary for the correct evolution of the project.

  • Monitoring the quality, budget, and scheduling of the works throughout the 23-month contract period.

Transforming Mobility in the Region of Murcia

The main objective of the intervention, which involves a construction investment of 11.8 million euros, is to increase the capacity of the A-30 motorway towards Cartagena between km 144+900 and 146+100. The project also includes the remodeling of the interchange with the MU-30, located around km 146+000 of the A-30 and km 10+000 of the MU-30, as well as the reinstatement of service roads and access paths affected during execution.

The new infrastructure will act as a storage area for vehicles accessing the MU-30, allowing long-distance traffic towards Cartagena to flow without interruptions.

In addition to the new lane, the project includes civil engineering challenges such as the widening of the overpass over the Camino de Salabosque and the installation of noise barriers, reinforcing the commitment to road safety and environmental sustainability in the urban environment.
