The construction of the new headquarters of the Tax IT Department (DIT) of the State Tax Administration Agency (AEAT) in Madrid has completed the main structure of the building, an event marked by the 'Puesta de Bandera' ceremony.
SOCOTEC is key to the project, contributing its expertise in building structures engineering for the development of the Data Processing Center.

Structural Specialization Design
New State Tax Administration Agency
The new AEAT DIT headquarters is an emblematic project composed of two juxtaposed buildings with clearly differentiated functions, which has required a high specialization in structural solutions:
- Office Building: Located in the northern third, with three underground floors and five above-ground floors. It will house administrative and workspace areas.
- Data Processing Center (DPC/CPD): Located in the southern third, with a specific structural design of three underground floors and one above-ground floor. This concentrates the essential technological and electromechanical installations for the Tax Agency's digital management.
Building engineering for data centers critically emphasizes security and efficiency, implementing specific structural designs and advanced refrigeration and environmental control systems for the protection of equipment and data.

Integrated Structural Engineering
Integrated Structural Engineering SOCOTEC is involved in the project, providing its integrated structural engineering services to guarantee the soundness, technical reliability, and correct execution of the complex. Its participation covers several key phases:
Preliminary Study of the Execution Project: Carrying out a complete review of the project to identify possible incidents in structural elements, foundations, or critical points. The goal was to propose improvements and optimizations before construction began.
Construction Execution Phase: Participating as Co-Project Management (DO - Dirección de Obra) in structural matters and supporting the Construction Management (DEO - Dirección de Ejecución de Obra). This function has included the control and monitoring of the foundation and the structure, as well as the drafting of visit and inspection reports.
Comprehensive Technical Assistance: Providing constant technical assistance to both the Project Management (DO) and the Construction Management (DEO) for the preparation of documentation, calculations, and economic estimations, ensuring the technical coherence of the project.

"We have focused our expertise on the DPC (Data Processing Center)—the heart of information security—to ensure a structural soundness and reliability that guarantees the secure and scalable digital management of the Tax Agency in the long term."
The completion of the main structure reflects the excellent coordination among important players in the national construction sector. The project, led by TMR and ASCH Infraestructuras y Servicios S.A., relies on the collaboration of reference technical firms such as INCOSA, VELBER, SEG, INTEMAC, and PQC.
