Given the lack of external academic programs specialized in monitoring, SOCOTEC leverages its leading expertise to create its own internal training school. On this occasion, through a cross-functional approach, field and office technicians swapped roles to consolidate a complete mastery of shared workflows.
Inclinometry: From the ground to digital management
Coordinated by Jesús Ros, this session delved into the use of advanced instrumentation to measure ground displacements in two dimensions (X and Y axes).
The main objective was to perfect the end-to-end data cycle: from its collection under real site conditions by field technicians to its analytical interpretation in the office. The process culminates with real-time integration into our exclusive Blue Trust Monitoring by SOCOTEC platform, guaranteeing our clients an immediate and accurate visualization for critical decision-making.
Advanced Surveying: Synergy between software and hardware
Led by Sergi Fernández (the team's surveyor), the practical training took place within the monitoring circuit already deployed at the R2 railway undergrounding works in Montcada, a major project monitored by the company.
The professionals enhanced their skills with robotic total stations (prism readings) and high-precision levels. The session focused on optimizing the interaction between software and hardware: from executing rigorous readings to the automated extraction and export of data files according to the highest standards required by the client.
