SOCOTEC reinforces its leadership in the geotechnical engineering sector by joining SEMSIG, consolidating its commitment to technical excellence, infrastructure security and regulatory standardization.

A commitment to excellence and standardization

As part of our strategy of continuous improvement, SOCOTEC has formalized its entry into the Spanish Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (SEMSIG). This alliance was born from a shared objective: to promote the "Standardization of geotechnics applied to building and civil works".

For SOCOTEC, this step represents a strategic opportunity for the exchange of technical and scientific knowledge, actively participating in the advances that guarantee the stability, security and resilience of infrastructures at national and international level.

SUPPORT

Technical Committee ISO/TC 182

In its commitment to excellence, SOCOTEC actively  participates in key meetings for the industry, such as that of the ISO/TC 182 Geotechnics technical committee (Barcelona, 2025). These appointments are essential to establish the international regulations and technical standards that will set the course for geotechnical engineering.

Our experts' vision: Safety and Durability

The integration of geotechnical engineering with advanced monitoring  systems is, today more than ever, a critical pillar for the resilience of infrastructures.

"The proper execution of a geotechnical study and correct auscultation are essential factors to anticipate any failure mechanism and guarantee the durability of the assets. It's not just about complying with regulations, but about understanding the real behavior of the land and structure to protect investment and people's safety in the long term."

Josep Raventós, Director of Auscultation of SOCOTEC

With more than 40 years of experience in quality control and geotechnical engineering, at SOCOTEC we understand that the success of any project is born in the subsoil. This track record allows us to combine our technical capacity with participation in bodies such as ISO, positioning us at the forefront of transforming in-depth field analysis into tangible value and safety. Under this premise of risk management, we accompany our clients in:

  1. Geotechnical Studies: Execution of campaigns on any type of surface and material, ensuring accurate information from the design phase.
  2. Field Trials: Technical and operational support throughout the research campaign.
  3. Auscultation and Monitoring: Experts in the control of movements both in terrain and in structures.

Institutional leadership and commitment to the industry

At SOCOTEC, we understand that engineering progress does not happen in isolation. We firmly believe in institutional strength as the indispensable link with the industry; a common space where it is possible to align the changing demands of the market with the latest technical advances and the experience accumulated in decades of projects.

Our strategy of active presence in the sector's leading institutions is not only a declaration of intent, but a responsibility. Being part of these bodies allows us to participate in the forums where the future of regulations and technical safety is decided, ensuring that our solutions are always at the forefront.

Alliance with SEMSIG

The recent incorporation of SOCOTEC into the Spanish Society of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (SEMSIG) marks a milestone in our history. With this alliance, we reaffirm our position as the trusted partner to address highly complex geotechnical solutions.

This union enhances our ability to:

  1. Promoting research: Collaborating in the development of new methodologies that improve the understanding of the behavior of the terrain.
  2. Guarantee technical quality: Applying the most demanding standards in each phase of auscultation and analysis.
  3. Delivering value to the customer: Transforming institutional knowledge into tangible benefits, reducing risks and optimizing the durability of infrastructures.

For SOCOTEC, betting on SEMSIG is betting on excellence, consolidating a business model where innovation and technical rigor are the pillars that sustain the trust of our customers around the world.
