SOCOTEC commits to the "GREEN TRUST" seal: 50% of its revenue will be sustainable by 2028

We reaffirm our commitment to environmental and social sustainability by presenting our CSR strategy for the 2026-2028 period, during events held for our teams in Madrid and San Sebastián de los Reyes.
In a context where the building sector is responsible for 40% of global emissions and energy consumption, SOCOTEC seeks to lead the industry shift through sustainable technical solutions, decarbonization, and social inclusion.
GREEN TRUST: The engine for sustainable revenue
The backbone of this new phase is the GREEN TRUST seal, the brand identifying SOCOTEC services that contribute directly to the EU Taxonomy objectives. We have set a transformative business goal: for 50% of total revenue by 2028 to come from projects with a positive impact.
Currently, this seal is already a reality in flagship projects such as the construction management for the tram connection on Barcelona's Avenida Diagonal, energy audits for Amazon, and strategic environmental investigations at the Port of Barcelona.
Our strategy seeks not only to reduce our operational impact but to transform the market through our services. With GREEN TRUST, we align our growth with the restoration of the environment, proving that profitability and sustainability are inseparable in the new engineering model.
Towards full decarbonization and operational efficiency
As an essential complement to its external activity, SOCOTEC is accelerating the reduction of its own carbon footprint. After achieving a 14% decrease during the 2021-2024 period, the company has now set a target to reduce its GHG emissions by 30% by 2028. To reach these figures in Spain, key actions will be implemented:
Sustainable mobility: 50% of the light vehicle fleet is expected to be electric by 2028.
Efficient offices: The Barcelona headquarters already holds the BREEAM In-Use "Very Good" certification. In addition, self-consumption will be boosted through photovoltaic solar panels, such as the Montcada installation, which already generates 17% of the annual consumption of the national offices.

Social commitment, ethics, and circular economy
Beyond the environmental scope, the strategy focuses on people. SOCOTEC Spain, which holds the Great Place to Work certification, will launch a pioneering social inclusion initiative in 2026: specialized training as Laboratory Assistants for groups at risk of social exclusion.
In terms of governance, the company will work towards obtaining the EcoVadis accreditation—a leading platform for evaluating ethical and social performance—following the success of other Group branches such as SOCOTEC Italy, UK, and France.
Finally, the commitment to the circular economy is reinforced through the donation of materials to organizations such as the Asociación Colores de Poniente or the Nepp Foundation, an action that has prevented the emission of more than 3,500 kg of CO2eq.
