The SOCOTEC Theatre was one of the most crowded spaces at REBUILD. Over three days, more than 2,000 attendees enjoyed a program of high-level presentations and round tables, which addressed the latest trends in the sector.

 

More than 30 leading companies shared their success stories at the SOCOTEC Theatre. Among them, Finsa, which presented industrialized construction solutions with wood, and PLAN RADAR, which showcased its proposal for the digitalization of the sector.

SOCOTEC, protagonist in the Congress of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0

SOCOTEC's participation in REBUILD 2024 was not limited to the SOCOTEC Theatre. The company also had a prominent presence at the Congress of Advanced Architecture and Construction 4.0, where it participated as a moderator and speaker in various round tables.

Antonio Sánchez Gea, General Manager of SOCOTEC Spain, spoke at the session "Success Stories of Engineering with Circular Strategies". In it, he highlighted the importance of industrialization and the need for high-quality detailed engineering for the success of industrialized construction, as in the case of the Plan Vive.

 

In memory of Agustí Obiol, pioneer of structural consulting

SOCOTEC wanted to pay tribute to the figure of Agustí Obiol, a visionary architect who integrated structural engineering and architecture, leaving an indelible legacy in the sector.

The heartfelt words of Lara Pellegrini, Benedetta Tagliabue, and Martha Thorne at the REBUILD session recalled the figure of Obiol. They highlighted his exceptional ability to conceive engineering as an integral part of architectural expression.

Two of the central themes of REBUILD 2024 were digitalization and sustainability. In this sense, SOCOTEC shared its experience, participating in round tables on intelligent infrastructure monitoring and digital platforms for sustainability.

Abel Domato Jayo, General Manager of SOCOTEC Spain, moderated the round table "Intelligent Monitoring in Infrastructures: Challenges and Opportunities". It highlighted the importance of measurement and data for the development of efficient, sustainable, and resilient infrastructures.

Traceability, cooperation, and information sharing were highlighted as key to achieving process standardization, data linking, and business model generation for circularity in the construction sector.
