SOCOTEC joins the European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) once again this year, the European Union initiative that promotes awareness and commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
During these days, SOCOTEC will participate in webinars and events on sustainability, and will launch new materials and ebooks. With these initiatives, the company reaffirms its commitment to the ecological, energy and digital transition of the construction and infrastructure sector.

New specialized sustainability services
The programme is completed with content on the main sustainability tools and certifications in the construction sector:
- LEED Certification: the world's most recognized sustainable building certification system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), to design, construct, operate and maintain high-performance buildings. SOCOTEC is your strategic partner to achieve this.
- BREEAM Certification: the world's leading sustainability assessment and certification system, with more than 600,000 certified buildings since 1990. In Spain, BREEAM ES adapts this methodology to local regulations and technical reality.
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA): an essential strategic tool for assessing the carbon embodied in building materials, in view of the new binding deadlines of the Technical Building Code (mandatory to declare the GWP from 2028 for buildings of more than 1,000 m², and from 2030 for all new buildings).
- Pre-construction audits: a comprehensive technical and economic inventory, carried out before any major demolition or refurbishment, which identifies reusable materials, recyclable materials and hazardous waste. SOCOTEC has already carried out more than 1,000 such audits worldwide.
